Winter Blues

Photobucket

Sorry it has been so quiet around here! I think I've been sufferin' a little from the winter blues. Now, don't get me wrong--I love the winter! The way the trees look when it snows, the idea of curling up by a warm fire reading a good book, hot chocolate! It's all good, but lately I think my outfits have been revolving more around being warm than anything else! And if my outfit does not consist of sweaters, thick socks, and granny boots it's too cold to go out and take a picture! It really has been the coldest, lately, and it doesn't seem like it's going to warm up any time soon! Enough bellyaching though--I'm going to try and brave the cold a bit more, and get some outfit posts going again!

For this one, I know there's practically an army of internet girls who own this dress, so I wasn't going to post a picture of me wearing it--but I was excited about my new vest and this dress looked just right with it! I never really thought of wearing a vest before this. It's not that I don't like them, but I never really noticed them. But, then I saw an especially lovely photo of Rhiannon wearing a vest and I realized how cute they can be! So, just clicking around Etsy the other day this vest showed up in one of my favorite sellers feeds, and good golly, how did I overlook vests before? Somethin' a little different than a cardigan!

Hooray! I'm so glad to see a new outfit post from you. They are always so inspiring. That dress still remains fresh and lovely, no matter how many blogger girls run around in it. You're just the cutest!
Also I'm so glad to have introduced you to Odland, aren't they just the prettiest thing! Makes me (continue to) wish I was French.

oh it's a perfect outfit and I love all the dark colors together. I think for the remainder of winter I might just wear only dark clothes. although I'll change my mind about that tomorrow.....
anyhow you look perfect for a winter day doing indoorsy things, and I know exactly what you mean about outfit photos and lack of outfits in general.
but warm weather motivated clothes can be nice too and i'm sure of all people you're an extra fashionable winter dresser!

I really like the dress with that vest over it. Sometimes, a dress just needs an extra somethin' and the vest is that perfect extra somethin'.

:D

Yep, I'm one of the guilty ones. I have that dress too (except maybe in a different color?). I love it with the vest. I'm also guilty of not taking outfit photos lately 'cause of the cold. Too stinkin' cold!

I already said it to you but the dress is so perfect with the knit vest over it! And you sure are brave for taking outside photos without a coat on . . I can't begin to imagine.

Is it supposed to be getting warmer up there this week? I'll cross my fingers, if only so we can see more outfit posts! :)

I was so excited to see a blog post from you on my feed reader this morning! :)

I know what you mean a bit about the winter blues... I get them myself this time of year. :) You look so pretty in that outfit--I just love how you've layered the vest! I could never quite get a handle on wearing vests... lol!

Roxanne- Aw, thanks!! That really means a lot! I feel like I've been in a bit of winter rut lately, so that's especially nice to hear :) Oh dear--and yes!! They are so, so amazing! I've been studying French for a while in school, but they made me re-inspired to continue learning and move to France! Yes please! (plus, Lorenzo Papace is quite possibly the most adorable person ever? Taxidermy animals and aeroplane glasses!)

Meaghan- Aw, thank you so much! Haha you're the nicest, miss!! I hope it warms up soon!

Quincy- Agreed! and thanks!

Alyssa- Aw, thanks! Yeah, I'm so glad I finally noticed vests!

Sally Jane- Haha, yeah--you look so, so nice in yours, though! Lookin' at them I think mine is a different color? I didn't even realize! But yess...toooo cold!!

Miss Kellie- haha, do it!! I hope they still have it!!

Rhiannon- Aww, thank you Rhiannon!! haha yeah, I sort of grit my teeth and then ran the second the photo was taken! It doesn't look like it's warming up any time soon, but good golly I hope it does!!

Casey- Aw, thank you! That means a lot :) Yeah, I think I was sort of going back to my same winter outfits as last year because of the cold--didn't really feel like thinking of a new warm outfit! I'm sure it'll pass soon, though!

hannah- Haha, aw, thanks!! And thank you for the vest! I love it!
